My style is documentary at heart and cinematic in execution. I want things to look beautiful, but never at the expense of them feeling real.

I’m easygoing when the day calls for it, decisive when you need some direction, and always thinking a few steps ahead so you don’t have to.

When I’m not behind a camera, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, playing guitar, or finding some other creative rabbit hole to disappear into.

Your wedding isn’t a film set.

You should actually get to experience it.

I’ll take care of remembering the rest.

Hi, I’m Andrew Fassbender, the filmmaker behind Married AF.

Before I ever filmed a wedding, I spent 15 years as a professional ballet dancer. That taught me how to read movement, anticipate what’s about to happen, and recognize the little gestures that say more than words ever could.

After dancing, my career took me to New York City, where I worked in commercial photography and cinematography. I learned how to shape light, build strong images, and tell stories with intention.

Turns out, those two worlds translate pretty damn well to weddings.

I notice the glance before the laugh. The nervous hands. The parent trying to hold it together. The friend already losing their mind before the dance floor officially opens.

That’s how I approach every wedding: paying attention to what’s actually happening and knowing when to capture it without getting in the way.

Andrew

a little bit about

This is still a wedding, not a production. Things will run late. Plans will change. That’s okay. We roll with it, keep things easy, and make something great out of the day you actually had.

HAVE A DAMN GOOD TIME

04.

Vows, speeches, reactions, details, audio, and all the little things happening in between. I’m always looking beyond the obvious moment for the story around it.

KNOW IT’S COVERED

03.

No endless posing or trying to manufacture emotion. I’ll offer direction when you need it, then give you room to relax and let the real moments happen.

FEEL LIKE YOURSELVES

02.

You’ve got enough happening on your wedding day. You shouldn’t have to manage your filmmaker too. I’ll stay ahead of what’s happening so you can actually be in it.

Stay Present

01.

On your wedding day, I want you thinking about almost anything other than your wedding video.

You should be with your people. Laughing, crying, eating something before 9 p.m., and actually taking in the fact that this thing you’ve spent months planning is finally happening.

I’ll give direction when it helps and disappear when it doesn’t. I’m constantly watching for what’s coming next, working alongside your photographer, recording the audio that matters, and making sure the little moments don’t disappear while everyone is focused on the big ones.

You won’t need to perform for me.

You won’t spend the day repeating moments for the camera.

You’ll just get married.

And years from now, the film should bring you right back to the people, sounds, energy, and emotions that made the day yours.
